Further to the continuous PET pilot unit trial of CTL Ti638 UP earlier in 2013 the PET chip produced during the trial has now been melt processed into 2 litre sized preforms and bottles. As expected the CTL Ti638 UP PET bottles show improved thermal stability and optical properties compared to the antimony reference. The resulting Ti-PET bottles also have increased crystallinity side walls which allow for light weighting of bottles while maintaining bottle strength.
